Registration Fee

ALL presenters and attendees in the workshop must submit a registration form. Paper presenters, invited guests, NewT and LiSS COST Action team members do not pay a registration fee. All others pay a CAD$225 (CAD$150 students) registration fee. Registration is not considered complete until the registration fee is received. Space is limited. No refunds granted after 1 September 2010.

The workshop will be held at the Hub Theatre at The Open University (OU), Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK.

The Opening Keynote and Press Conference (9 Sept) will be held at the Milton Keynes HIlton Hotel, Timbold Drive, Kents Hill Park

The workshop is 9-11 September 2010. Plan to check-in at the hotel prior to 17:00h on Thursday, 9 September (14:00 h for LiSS experts) and check-out Sunday 12 September (Saturday 11 September for LiSS experts).

A block of rooms has been reserved for workshop participants at the Hilton Milton Keynes Hotel. A maximum of three hotel nights at the Hilton will be booked on behalf of workshop participants by the workshop organizers (LiSS experts are funded for two hotel nights only). Each guest will be required to provide a credit card upon check-in for incidental charges and room charges, if applicable. The bed and breakfast rate is 59 GBP single; 69 GBP double occupancy.

You are encouraged to make your own economy-fare travel arrangements through your own travel agency or through the applicable travel agency listed below. If you receive travel funding from either NewT or LiSS COST, the price of your ticket may not exceed the economy fare quoted by Odyssey Travel, the workshop's preferred North American travel agency (see contact info below) OR the workshop's preferred EU/UK travel agency (see contact info below).

Important: If you receive travel funding from either NewT or LiSS COST, you are required to retain all boarding passes, and passenger tickets/receipts related to your travel to/from the workshop. Funded LiSS experts are to be reimbursed by the LiSS programme in the usual way. All others are to submit receipts/passes to Joan Sharpe, Project Administrator, when travel is completed.

Field Trip

A workshop field trip to Bletchley Park National Codes Centre on Friday 10 September is included with your registration. Bletchley Park is the historic site of secret British codebreaking activities during WWII and birthplace of the modern computer. Please be aware that a visit to Bletchley Park involves both indoor and outdoor activities. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The visit will include a guided tour and refreshments. Workshop participants will travel to and from Bletchley Park via chartered coach.
